X-Men: The Exterminated #1
about four hours before the news broke that Chadwick Boseman died after a four-year battle with colon cancer, I told my daughter I wanted to rewatch Black Panther. She grew up with the marvel Cinematic Universe, and I am so fortunate to share with her a love of these comic book stories. We made plans to enjoy the film when she returned home after her late-summer vacation, and then catastrophe struck. Chadwick Boseman played lots of famous roles, but King T’Challa is the late actor at his a lot of mythic. While marking a balance shift in the marvel Cinematic Universe, Black Panther also marked a cultural shift or, at least, the beginnings of one.
The Black Panther didn’t debut in his solo movie, however. Chadwick Boseman won the role and made his on-screen debut as T’Challa in Captain America: Civil War. in that film, T’Challa is an equally powerful figure who doesn’t align with either Cap or Iron Man. He’s an outside observer who has a very personal stake in the outcome of the film. While Cap and Iron man both beat each other senseless and break apart the Avengers, T’Challa doesn’t make those same mistakes. He starts the film as a man out for vengeance and ends it as a man who seeks justice. (He even saves the life of the man he wanted to kill the entire film.)
This arc continues in Black Panther as he faces off against Michael B. Jordan’s Killmonger, his cousin and a man who became subsumed by vengeance. it all culminates with T’Challa’s decision to put Wakanda on the international stage to fully become a part of the global community.

But First, Let’s Talk about The value of Representation
In these ludicrous political times, “representation” has become a political buzzword that likely gives you one certain feeling or another. This feeling is likely based on which political ideology you cling to. Yet, representation is a very simple, apolitical human concept. In the US, white-identifying folks look to something a lot more than racial make-up for their representation. When I was a kid, my brown-haired kids normally wanted to be Han Solo and blond kids normally wanted to be Luke Skywalker. However, I always chose Luke because I related to him in a significant way. I never met my father. So, when I saw that Luke also never met his father, it was special. during that time, there were few characters in children’s media whose mothers didn’t know who their fathers were. (Lest she be judged harshly by puritanical audiences.)
For black and brown kids, they didn’t have those kind of options. For playing pretend with star Wars characters, they had Lando and that’s it. (No disrespect to the smoothest space pirate in any galaxy intended.) For the first time in a marvel Studios film, people with black and brown skin outnumbered those with white skin in the cast. Not only that, these characters lived in a beautiful, dynamic, and futuristic society.

As director Ryan Coogler wrote in his remembrance for Chadwick Boseman:
“We would typically speak about heritage and what it indicates to be African. When preparing for the film, he would ponder every decision, every choice, not just for how it would reflect on himself, but how those choices could reverberate. ‘They not ready for this, what we are doing…’ ‘This is star Wars, this is Lord of the Rings, but for us… and bigger!’
“He would say this to me while we were struggling to finish a dramatic scene, stretching into double overtime. Or while he was covered in body paint, doing his own stunts. Or crashing into frigid water, and foam landing pads. I would nod and smile, but I didn’t believe him. I had no idea if the film would work. I wasn’t sure I knew what I was doing. but I look back and realize that Chad knew something we all didn’t. He was playing the long game. All while putting in the work.”
Boseman thought deeply about the character and the world he inhabited. He and Coogler discussed Wakandan military bearing, opting to avoid making them all dress the same or stand with military precision. Wakandan soldiers danced and sang during the coronation of their king. Their salute was special (always right-arm over the left-arm, the way Egyptian Pharaohs would be posed for burial). When it came time for T’Challa and his father, played by South African cinema legend John Kani, they made a decision on the day to speak in Xhosa, with Boseman learning lines translated by Kani on the day of filming. It was his idea for Killmonger to ask to be buried outside of Wakanda and in the oceans with his ancestors.
The marvel Studios’ origin formula at Play in Black Panther
image by Matt Kennedy by means of marvel Studios
Solo debut motion pictures in the MCU usually follow a formula. The hero starts in a place of comfort but wanting. They face a trial and come out a hero. They have to suffer a loss and battle a dark version of themselves. Where Black Panther really succeeds is in making Killmonger a sympathetic character and grounds his dark reflection of T’Challa in real trauma. There is nothing inaccurate about why Killmonger is angry, specifically with regard to the plight of historically oppressed peoples in the world. This is, in fact, something that also bothers T’Challa, but as the kid of the king the struggle Killmonger talks about is only theoretical to him.
Where T’Challa abandoned his quest for vengeance, Killmonger became subsumed by his. He became a killer first for the state and then for money. When he finally achieved his goal, a takeover of Wakanda, he was in a position to arm every single city in the world with their own superhero. but that’s not what he did. He wanted to wage war on the world but burned all of the heart-shaped herb which could make people his equal. like any despot, Killmonger feared equality. Yes, he wanted to make black and brown people devoted to him powerful, but not as powerful as he himself is.
In wresting back control of his kingdom, T’Challa did strike the blow that ended Killmonger. Yet, even at the end of their fight he wanted to forgive and save his life, not shed even a lot more blood. Killmonger, or Erik Stevens A.K.A. N’Jadaka kid of N’Jobu, ended up so lost in his anger and desire for vengeance that it was only after he was mortally wounded that he was able to recognize the appeal that is Wakanda.
T’Challa is Both a Superhero and a King
image by means of marvel Studios
Chadwick Boseman, fully aware of the responsibility of his role, had to embody both a superhero and the king of the most powerful nation on Earth. had T’Challa ‘gone dark side’ like Killmonger, he could have easily taken over the world if he wanted. He didn’t need Infinity Stones, just Shuri’s technology and an army of super-soldiers. Yet, like Christopher Reeve’s Superman or Chris Evans’ Captain America, T’Challa is a pure, moral character. He doesn’t claim the crown because it is his birthright or his path to power. He takes on both the mantle of Black Panther and king out of a sense of responsibility and duty. Also, he sees how the Wakandan policy of ignoring the outside world is flawed both at a macro level and a personal one. He is repulsed when Zuri, played by forest Whitaker, reveals his daddy murdered his brother and abandoned his nephew.
Still, the morality of the character did not stop Boseman from playing T’Challa as the complete badass he is. The opening scene, where he fights off a militia who kidnapped women and children, and the casino brawl in the second act are particularly awesome. T’Challa is tough, ruthless at times, but never without compassion. If Boseman lived, T’Challa might have gone on to become the kind of cinematic institution that Spider-Man, Batman, or Superman are today. Boseman was the sort of actor whose performance gives T’Challa the sort of foundation such a character needs yet allows other actors to come in a build on that role. Boseman knew that this role was bigger than himself. like the character, rather than behave selfishly he worked even harder to make sure that T’Challa genuinely became immortal.
The Future of Black Panther Without Chadwick Boseman
image by means of marvel Studios
The night the news of his passing broke, enough fans lamented what would happen to Black Panther 2, it trended on Twitter. Yes, this is in bad taste, but it’s sinister. Boseman made T’Challa so beloved, fans couldn’t help but feel robbed of the chance to see him in as lots of motion pictures as we’ve gotten Cap or Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron man in. Whether marvel makes a decision to recast the role or not, the Black Panther has a future. In the comics, Shuri wore the mantle for a time and Letitia Wright could suit up for the sequel. Also, Nakia, played by Lupita Nyong’o is another candidate to become Black Panther. Eventually, the marvel universe will be rebooted and someone else will take on the role of T’Challa for a new generation.
Yet, just as we’ve not forgotten Christopher Reeve or Adam West, Chadwick Boseman will last forever. The choices he made, from T’Challa’s accent to his style to his morality, will inform the future portrayals one way or another. So, it’s a gift that we have this film (along with his other appearances in the MCU) which gives us a best T’Challa. These are motion pictures that will passed down generationally, like star Wars or James Bond or Batman or Superman. It’s natural, especially in this golden age of comic book films, to lament what we won’t get. Yet, as T’Challa would definitely agree, we need to remember to appreciate what we have.
Chadwick Boseman left an indelible mark on cinema. Yet, the gift (and, sometimes, curse) of playing a pop culture icon is that it lasts forever. Chadwick Boseman, like T’Challa, put his all into his work and did it not for aggrandizement but to leave a legacy on which others can build forever.
What do you think of Black Panther, and how will the legacy left behind by Chadwick Boseman stand up to the test of time? Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments below.

one of the most interesting things about the series premiere of Stargirl is how swiftly the series introduced the Justice Society, the Injustice Society, and the new Justice society in just an hour. We didn’t know their names or backstories all at first, but all of the pieces were on the table. (And it helped that the bad people obliterated the original Justice society in the first six minutes.) By the season 1 finale of Stargirl we know a a lot more about these characters and who they are. The tragedy, however, is that we don’t really get to see them grow into their hero personas. Similarly, we didn’t really get a full sense of what each of the villains in the show want. Neither do we get to understand why, of all of them, Neil Jackson’s Icicle is their leader.
Yet, these quibbles aside, Stargirl is a terrific cape series. It found a way to be dynamic and fresh on networks crowded with them. The performances are all delightful, including the villains who chew through scenery like it’s their superpower. Of all of the DC series on DC universe or the CW, Stargirl feels like the one an entire family could take pleasure in together. maybe it’s the idyllic Americana setting, the bright and lively visuals, or the earnestness of the characters.
We are going to spoil things below. So, if you’ve not yet seen the finale, bookmark this page and come back after you have. full of comic book goodness, the Stargirl season 1 finale does leave some questions and criticisms behind.

What the Stargirl season 1 Finale got Right
image by means of Warner Bros. Television
The storytellers succeeded in nearly everything in Stargirl season 1, including delivering a suitably epic finale. amongst the core cast, they even set up some interesting emotional and ethical dilemmas for future storytelling. It’s a bold choice to have Yvette Monreal’s Wildcat and Cameron Gellman’s Hourman advocate for one thing and ultimately make a different choice in the end. Detractors may call that “bad writing,” but I’d argue it’s the opposite. we all know people (maybe even ourselves) who say we believe one thing, yet when faced with the decision in real life do the opposite. The character I am a lot of interested in going forward is Wildcast, to see how she reconciles killing Christopher James Baker’s Brainwave.
The family dynamic between the Dugans and the Whitmores is excellent, too. By the end of the series, even Trae Romano’s Mike Dugan is in the family superhero club. Over a long comic book run, secret identities can verify to be a terrific source of drama. Yet, for some reason, they don’t work so well in live-action set in the modern day. So, it’s good that the entire family is in on the secret and present their own interesting dynamics for future family drama.
The rest of the Justice society is great, too, even though they got the short shrift in just 13 episodes. The journeys of Hourman and Wildcat felt abridged, rushed, and a little incomplete. The journey for Anjelika Washington’s Beth chapel was barely touched on at all. (She was best friends with her parents and then best friends with a pair of goggles. Beth deserved better.) Still, these are all problems that can be attended to in future episodes and seasons.
What the Stargirl season 1 Finale got Wrong
image by means of Warner Bros. Television
I have a few complaints about this series. One is nit-picky and the other is a little less so. To start with the a lot more substantive complaint, I am deeply disappointed with the managing of the villains in this series. The series played them as mostly one-dimensional, glorified goons. The idea that these super-villains killed their greatest nemeses and then retired to nowhere and set down roots is fascinating. Personally, I would have preferred them saving a lot of of the ISA for future seasons, focusing a lot more intently on Icicle, Nelson Lee’s Dragon King, and Brainwave. The latter character is, essentially, the only character we got know on a deeper level and he’s gone now. (Or is he? Because, you know, comic books!)
Two very interesting characters, Hina X. Khan’s The Fiddler and Joe Knezevich’s Wizard were absolutely wasted. The rest of the ISA seemed to be capable and bloodthirsty but stayed committed to the big bad plan for reasons as yet uncertain. In fact, Brainwave killed his entire family to support their “New America” plot, and we have no idea why he would do that. This concept, of parental bad people on some supervillain service is not new. Marvel’s Runaways showed how you can tell this story, while making the villains real people with believable motivations.
Finally, what slightly annoyed me is how Icicle generally lost his powers for the entire final episode. They could have given some comic book-y reason for this, but they just didn’t. exceptionally powerful the way they created him, Icicle ended up getting his butt kicked with nearly no use of his powers. In a way, it made the new Justice Society’s victory feel a little hollow.
Lingering questions and Predictions for season 2
image by means of Warner Bros. Television
Ultimately, the episode told a compelling story that looked terrific on TV. all of the areas that disappointed are areas where they can improve in the next season. So let’s take a look at what questions remain and where the series might go next year.
First, there is the question about the surprise return of Starman himself, played by Joel McHale. though this is something fans expected when they say McHale in the role, it will supply an interesting dynamic for his former sidekick and his Cosmic staff in the next season. will it be significant or will McHale’s character stay as a glorified cameo?
Next, there is the question of the remaining members of the Justice Society. They are still famous members of the town, though they will likely flee. (Also, the Whitmores will have some describing to do when the Fiddler’s body is found in their house.) Hopefully, if these villains become persistent threats, they get better story arcs and characterization. Also, Stargirl’s toughest villain, Shiv, is out there with what may be a deadly new ally.
Finally, the greatest question is what will become of the town of Blue Valley and the team of superheroes that now live there? This is anyone’s guess, but I have a few ideas. First, I think of that we’ll see Wildcat trying to come to terms with killing Brainwave. Also, I suspect that Hourman will find himself befriending Solomon Grundy, mirroring what happened in the Infinity Inc. comics where Grundy joined the team. (Though, given the heavy CGI needed for the character, we may not see him much.) Also, I think of we’ll see Beth chapel come into her own as a hero, and Brec Bassinger’s Courtney Whitmore balancing family and heroics.

The DC Comics world of stories is growing at rather a clip. The new series Superman & Lois just debuted, as well as it’s a gem of a show. Also, Zack Snyder’s Justice league is set to hit HBO Max next month. Andy Muschietti is currently working on a movie starring Ezra Miller’s Flash that’s set to open up the DC Multiverse. Finally, poor Robot is working on an entire suite of Justice league Dark projects, as well as it seems one more Kryptonian story. A new report states that JJ Abrams will create a new Superman movie written by author Ta-Nehisi Coates. even though there are currently two Supermen flying around, there’s a possibility that they are looking to recast. However, the report specifies that no active casting is underway.

It’s been a great year for the between the world as well as Me author. The very first book by Coates, The Water Dancer, is getting a film adaptation. He completed a outstanding run on Black Panther last year, as well as dealt with Yona Harvey as well as Roxane Gay, world of Wakanda. Damon Lindelof, of LOST, The Leftovers, as well as Watchmen fame, mentioned his work as a major motivation for the series. Not the least of which was starting the show with the Tulsa Massacre, a brutal assault on black Americans largely erased from history.

Yet, the story of Superman is the American story, as well as not completely special to white folks. Superman was sent to Earth, to Kansas, as well as had to integrate into a world totally alien to him. That he passes as white made that easier for him. Yet, many comics fans have wondered what that story would look like if Superman instead passed as Black.
This new Ta-Nehisi Coates Superman job is still in the early stages, with casting not underway as of yet.
From ShadowAndAct.com, who broke the story:
“’To be invited into the DC prolonged world by Warner Bros., DC films as well as poor Robot is an honor,’ stated Coates in a statement got only by shadow as well as Act. ‘I look ahead to meaningfully contributing to the tradition of America’s most iconic mythic hero.’
“’There is a new, powerful as well as moving Superman story yet to be told. We couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with the brilliant Mr. Coates to assist bring that story to the huge screen, as well as we’re beyond thankful to the team at Warner Bros. for the opportunity,’ stated J.J. Abrams in the statement to S&A.
“’Ta-Nehisi Coates’s Between the world as well as Me opened a window as well as altered the method many of us see the world,’ added Toby Emmerich, Chairman, Warner Bros. photos Group. ‘We’re positive that his handle Superman will provide fans a new as well as interesting method to see the guy of Steel.’”
picture via Guilhem Vellut via Flickr
Coates’ inclusion in this job is a bit surprising. While he’s long been freely a comic book nerd, he is selective about his specific pantheon. Back in 2015 he provided an interview to Vulture.com in which he stated that he had checked out almost “none” of DC Comics’ stories.
He said:
“For reasons right or wrong, you’ll see the lead character for DC is Superman. So, truth, justice, as well as the American way. And, not even consciously, I just type of said, ‘Hmm, perhaps not.’ then you pick up X-Men, right, as well as you see all these weirdoes as well as freaks, you know? as well as you think, ‘Oh man, that type of rings true for me’ When I was a kid, I didn’t even believe of Peter Parker as white. It didn’t even happen to me.”
Marvel comics’ godfather, the late Stan Lee, frequently stated that Spider-Man’s charm was that under the mask he might be anyone. (Even you!) Coates went on to point out that this is reflective of exactly how “race is not a genuine thing,” as well as he determined with the outcast marvel characters more. Yet Superman’s whiteness, even though he’s an alien, defined the character for him, as well as he isn’t even sure why that is.
(Image: DC Comics)
Despite Henry Cavill being excited to return to the function of Superman, it’s uncertain if he’ll be included or if they are going the exact same path they went with The Batman, starting totally anew. Still, with Coates penning the script, it’s a fair assumption to question if we may not see a story about Kal-El at all. There already is a Black-passing Superman in DC Comics named Val Zod. A relation to the notorious general Zod, he’s a different type of Superman. He’s still a hero, however his experiences behind the “S” shield are different than Kal-El’s. We likewise understand that Abrams is looking to cast an actor of color in the function of John Constantine.
Fans can currently see Superman in Superman & Lois on the CW or Zack Snyder’s Justice league debuting on HBO Max on March 19, 2021.
What do you think? Are you excited that Ta-Nehisi Coates will compose a Superman film created by JJ Abrams? Do you believe he should focus on Val-Zod rather than Kal-El? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

At very first glance, this newest DC Comics statement is going to set off some hot takes. I don’t want to bury the lead here, so let’s get to it. legendary games as well as DC Comics are working together on a six-issue Batman Fortnite crossover series called Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point. exactly how on earth does a collab such as this happen? I have no clue, however I’m 100% all-in on it. I’ll discuss why, however first, let’s get to the details of this new announcement.
Batman/Fortnite: Zero point is the most recent DC Comics Crossover Series

DC Comics revealed this week that it’d partner with legendary games for a Batman and Fortnite crossover series. The premise of the six-issue run is honestly quite interesting. As a rift in the sky emerges above Gotham City, the Dark Knight is plunged into a new world without any memory. While there, he crosses paths with a handful of familiar foes. Additionally, he’ll likewise fight it out with Renegade Raider, Fishstick, Bandolier, as well as much more characters from the Fortnite universe.

For gamers important of Fortnite‘s success, this is sure to draw some dislike online. That said, there’s no rejecting the cultural force of this prominent on the internet battle royale game. recent collabs with comic book icons played well with the game’s 350 million+ player base. For example, the Fortnite Galactus event assisted drive player counts back up above already outstanding numbers. Plus, the collab with DC Comics appeals directly to the gamers themselves. Each print problem of Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point will include a redeemable code for benefit DC-themed Fortnite digital products influenced by the events in the comic, starting with the new renewal Harley Quinn Outfit.
If you’re a DC Comics fan, then you’re most likely approaching this one of two ways. On the one hand, fans or non-haters of Fortnite are likely to inspect out the series. If you’re truly not into it though, then you’re most likely believing it’s an simple series to skip. Personally, I don’t keep up with DC Comics or play Fortnite regularly. That said, I’m around this. Here’s why.
The brilliant of this Collaboration

For somebody like me who doesn’t necessarily discover themselves in the heart of either DC Comics or Fortnite fandom, this is interesting sufficient to inspect out. The six-issue run is a little request people to stick around to see it through. Plus, it’s yet one more mashup of pop culture forces discovering themselves intertwined. I like a great mashup. For gamers as well as comic fans, interests commonly line up quite regularly. That said, there are likewise shared practices between the neighborhoods to crap on actually anything that gets as well gimmicky or cringy. I worry that may be the situation with some older comic fans as well as gamers here. however that’s no fun.
It’s so lazy to dislike things since they’re popular. If anything, then this Batman and Fortnite crossover event leaves me feeling optimistic about both gaming as well as comics. If creators are prepared to work together on strange jobs such as this while the iron is hot, then we’re bound to end up with some innovative takes on familiar worlds as well as characters. I don’t care if you despite Fortnite as well as its fans. It’s not my issue if you don’t like the recent run of DC Comics. What matters right here is that two wildly prominent IPs are coming together to do something strange for six weeks. just have fun with it, it’s much better for your health.

Matt Reeves’ The Batman just just recently premiered in theaters anywhere as well as it’s already getting a great deal of like from fans; however, it’s been buzzed about for months. From Paul Dano being cast as a much different Riddler than Jim Carrey’s version to Colin’s Farrell’s Penguin getting an HBO spinoff series, Reeves’ film appeared like it was going to bring a great deal of star power as well as a fresh new handle the Caped Crusader. one of the most talked-about characters though? Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman. She’s not the very first actress to fill the function (that honor goes to Julie Newmar, who played the extremely very first Catwoman in the 1960s series together with Adam West), as well as she’s continued to be a prominent character throughout the years. In this blog post, I’m going to be checking out who is Catwoman? What is Catwoman’s history as well as what precisely is her connection with Bruce Wayne/Batman? checked out on to discover a lot more about this feline femme fatale!
Who Is Catwoman as well as What Are Her Powers?
Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman/Image by means of Warner Bros.
Selina Kyle, otherwise understood as Catwoman, was very first introduced to comic visitors as “The Cat” in Batman #1 in the spring of 1940. The character was produced by expense Finger as well as Bob Kane as an antagonist to Batman, although throughout the years, she’s been depicted as an anti-heroine as well as a like rate of interest to Bruce Wayne/Batman (more on that later). As pointed out earlier, Julie Newmar very first played Catwoman onscreen, however Lee Meriwether as well as Eartha Kitt likewise put on the catsuit in the 1960s. In Tim Burton’s 1992 Batman Returns, Catwoman was played by Michelle Pfeiffer as well as Halle Berry played the titular character in 2004’s Catwoman (which was a significant flop). Later, in 2012, Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises saw Anne Hathaway play the feline frenemy, as well as the 2014 television series Gotham cast Camren Bicondova as a young Selina Kyle. While Kyle is the most typical iteration of Catwoman, the comics likewise introduced Holly Robinson (an freely gay character who briefly took up the Catwoman identity after Selina provided birth to her daughter) as well as Eiko Hasigawa (the child of a criminal offense household that was at chances with Selina’s family, the Calabreses, however eventually ended up being Selina’s lover).

In Catwoman’s debut in Batman #1, she didn’t wear any type of kind of costume however disguised herself as an old lady to burglarize a jewel store. later iterations had her in a realistic-looking feline mask, then a gown with a hood that had feline ears, as well as lastly the a lot more recognizable skintight catsuit with boots as well as a mask. The catsuit was originally eco-friendly in the 1960s (typical of villains in that era), then it altered to purple in the 1990s. It lastly altered to the a lot more recognizable black as well as has been constructed out of latex (Michelle Pfeiffer) to a dominatrix-esque ensemble (Halle Berry).

Much like her namesake, Catwoman has lots of of the capabilities as her feline friends: stealth, agility, as well as sharp claws (her attire has commonly been depicted with retractable metal ones). She has a strong affinity for cats as well as they tend to flock to her, seeing her as a friend. There have been a number of times where Selina was able to train them as well as they’ve come to her aid when needed. Catwoman is likewise a master martial artist as well as thief. Her favored weapon of option is her whip (both a common bullwhip as well as a feline o’nine tails), as well as she’s likewise been understood to use caltrops in addition to bolas to entangle opponents at a distance. She normally brings duct tape or rope for binding her victims as well as has been understood to utilize sleeping gas or knockout darts. Lastly, she’s excellent at flirting as well as has utilized her feminine wiles to take advantage of male opponents, including Batman.
A history of Catwoman: Friend, Foe, Or Frenemy Of Batman?
picture by means of Clay Mann for DC Comics
When Finger as well as Kane very first produced “The Cat” character, they drew from several people including actresses Jean Harlow as well as Hedy Lamarr, as well as Kane’s cousin, Ruth Steele. They desired a character that would have sex appeal, however likewise might hook female comic readers; in other words, a “friendly foe who dedicated crimes however was likewise a charming rate of interest in Batman’s rather sterile life.” She was indicated to be a like rate of interest who might keep Batman on his toes. Kane said:
“(I saw cats as) type of the antithesis of bats. I felt that women were feline creatures as well as guy were a lot more like dogs. While dogs are faithful as well as friendly, cats are cool, detached, as well as unreliable.”
Ever considering that in the history of Catwoman, she has always played Batman’s antagonistic like interest. in spite of her being identified a “villain,” Batman as well as Catwoman have a history of working together to accomplish a typical goal, even if Selina does it in a doubtful way. depending upon which plotline you’re following, Batman as well as Catwoman have gotten married as well as even had a child together. The child was named Helena Wayne as well as she ultimately ended up being Huntress, ultimately teaming up with Dick Grayson to secure Gotham City.
In the different Batman movies where Selina Kyle/Catwoman make an appearance, the character has antagonized the Caped Crusade however likewise assisted him out. Pfeiffer’s Catwoman ended up sacrificing herself for the great of Gotham City while Hathaway’s Catwoman saves Batman from Bane as well as eventually ends up in a connection with Bruce. In Reeves’ The Batman, it appears that Catwoman as well as Batman are teaming as much as take down The Riddler. So is Catwoman actually…good? While her morals may be questionable, it seems like she always ends up doing what’s right. maybe she discovers a excitement in the game of feline as well as mouse, however in the end, she actually does want to clear up down.
The Batman is currently playing in theaters everywhere. It’s likely to be released on HBO Max 45 days after its theatrical release.
Do you feel like you can response the concern of who is Catwoman better? What do you believe of Batman as well as Catwoman’s history throughout the years? let us understand in the comments below!

“This job has been a long labor of like for me,” stated Robertson. “Co-creating OLIVER has been an chance to bring my level finest work, with support from Eric Stephenson as well as Image. It is the essence of what brings me enthusiasm for comics as well as visual storytelling. With OLIVER, I have been able to co-create a rich, emotionally engaging story by my (very patient) good friend Gary Whitta, whose occupation has just surged in the time we have been producing this book. For me, this is what indie comics are all about. I am thrilled to have it arranged for its January introduce at long last.”
The 80th anniversary of question lady isn’t up until next year. However, DC is already preparing the type of event that would befit such an renowned character. during the DC FanDome event promoting question lady 1984, they exposed a few of those plans.
The question lady 80th anniversary has Its own Logo
You can’t expect us to celebrate the 80th year of question lady with the exact same ol’, exact same ol’ logo, can you? As such, DC introduced a new logo that celebrates Diana’s long as well as actually storied history.

As shown, the logo integrates the present question lady logo into a new one. This logo will presumably go along with all the question lady fanfare we can expect next year. as well as they’ll have a full year to celebrate. That’s since question lady made her debut in All star Comics #8, which was very first offered in October 1941. (The cover date, by the way, was December/January 1941/1942.)
Specials In store For anniversary Celebration
Although DC released a special question lady problem earlier this year, that’s not the end of their commemoration. According to Patty Jenkins, who shared that new logo during the panel, there will be much more to come.

While she didn’t go into excellent detail, we can make some predictions. It seems likely, for instance, that we’ll see some new comic books, perhaps special problems or reissues. DC may even take question Woman’s show on the road, or at least on DC Universe. If I might desire something into existence, then a new question lady special on their streaming service would be choice. (In the meantime, we can all view the traditional question lady series, starring the renowned Lynda Carter, on the service.)
And because we’re going back to the beginning, I likewise suggest seeing professor Marston & the question Women, the genuine origin story for Diana Prince. I saw it alone in the movie theater as well as didn’t feel strange whatsoever about it. however if you’d like to feel not strange at home, then you can catch it on Hulu as well as for rental on different other services, including Vudu as well as Amazon Prime Video.
On that note, I’m prepared to celebrate. Let’s all dig out our old Underoos, which is a genuine thing people had, Joshua, as well as get prepared for question lady at 80. She looks quite excellent for an octogenarian, don’t you think?
Are you prepared to celebrate the 80th anniversary of question Woman? Share your thoughts on her tradition or on Underoos, the underclothing that’s fun to wear, in these comments or on social media.

Wayne Markley
by Wayne Markley
With this blog I am going to look at two different extremes of comics books. One is the world (alas fairly limited) of all ages comics that are ideal for any age and all ages. The second category are two books for adults only. now these two adult only books are really for mature readers as they are not porn or adult in the sense that Eros Comics are, but they do include adult situations, nudity and sex. What all four books have in common is they are all very good reads, if not great. I would recommend any of these books, depending on the reader.
Don Rosa Library: Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck Vol. 3
The third volume of the Don Rosa Library: Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck just came out from Fantagraphics Books. once again this is full color treasure trove of classic Don Rosa duck material. It is easy to forget how terrific Rosa (and William Van Horn and others) are because Carl Barks gets so much acclaim, and rightfully so, but I think Rosa was as good as Barks in numerous ways and at times possibly a little better. This volume reprints stories Rosa did for Egmont in the early 1990s and it features two book length epics, Treasure Under Glass and return to Xanadu. Both of these stories are sequels to Barks classics but they are so creative and well told they are as good as the original stories. The amount of work Rosa puts into coming up with a reason that makes sense for a sequel is incredible (not using the Hollywood method, much more money), but he also creates a logical reason for Scrooge and the gang to go on these adventures to places they have went to in the past. In the process of telling these stories Rosa adds little homages to Barks that reference the masters past work. even for fans such as myself who think they know the Barks canon back and forth, Rosa is able to sneak in things that we do not catch. Thankfully there is a ton of additional material by Rosa discussing each story in the collection, with whom it was done for – Egmont, Gladstone, etc. He also talks about the changes made by the editors for other collections and they also reprint a number of Rosa’s breakdowns so you can see what his original ideas were before the editorial changes, which are fairly small, truth be told. He also goes into depth about the various little tributes to Barks planted in the stories. again with this volume he includes a bio section where he talks about what was going on in his life at the time of the stories being reprinted. There is a terrific story about his page rate and Egmont.
In addition to the epic length stories and the background material there are a number of ten page gag stories that are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face if not make you break out laughing. It includes one of the best stories I have read in years called event at McDuck Tower where Donald is a window cleaner at the tallest building in Duckburg. There is a sequence that rivals the best of Harold Lloyd and is just a fantastic piece of storytelling. I would recommend this collection just for this one story. overall this is another should for any library with art and stories that mix the best of adventure with humor and a developer who certainly loves the material he is working with. highly recommended for all ages.
Captain Ken Vol. 2
Osamu Tezuka’s Captain Ken wrapped up with volume 2 just released by digital Manga through their Kickstarter Campaign. This second volume concludes all of the storylines from the first volume including the relationship between Captain Ken and miss Kenn. as with the first volume this collection is packed with action and humor. The story expands from the small town of volume one and extends into the Martian cities and the world around the city. new characters are introduced and a number of characters meet their supreme fate. The story is told like a classic old film serial with a number of action sequences setting up a cliffhanger and then there is a hero to the rescue that solves the issue. thankfully the hero does vary and is not always Captain Ken so that does result in some surprises. as with practically all of Tezuka’s work the story neatly ties up at the end with all of the various themes and characters wrapping up in a good box, even though when you start this volume you will never guess the end or how it is accomplished. I ought to also point out the relationship between the two Ken’s comes from left field in that it is not what I would have expected but it makes ideal sense in the context of the story. overall a terrific read for all ages, from young readers to adults.
Beauty #1
Beauty is a new book from image written by Jeremy Hahn and Jason Hurley and drawn by Jeremy Hahn. image has been doing a ton of new number ones with much more successes than duds but this book really caught my attention and stood out; not only because of the original story and terrific art but also because the entire premise is so original. This is part science fiction and part mystery and altogether very, very good. The premise if there is a virus called charm that transforms a person so they are ideal in every way; physical appearance, smell, etc. Over half the population has the virus and this “beauty” movement has created resentment and a backlash. For a first issue this was terrific and drew me in best away and I was greatly disappointed when I got to the last page as I wanted more; a surefire sign this is a good read. I would bet money this will be picked up for a film/TV project before long so find your copy of this first issue while you still can. due to subject matter and content it is recommended for mature readers.
Sex Vol. 1
Sex volume One collects the first seven issues of this tale of politics mixed with a terrific deal of sex by Joe Casey and Piotr Kowalski. first off let me be up front and say this book is for mature readers only due to nudity and language. While the title of the series is far much more tantalizing than the actual story, it is still very good. The basic story is about Simon Cooke, a former hero who has returned to Saturn City after he retired from the hero biz. Simon is the head of a substantial collaboration and is very rich (like many heroes) but he is not pleased with his new life, nor does he want his old life. There is something wrong with his city and he sets out to find out what that thing is. This search leads him to the seamier side of town and to the events and actions that inspire the title of the book. I shied away from this book initially because it seemed to me to be just another adult title, but having read it, it is an interesting mystery story about corrupt people and the hedonism of the superrich. It is not a book for everybody, but I was pleasantly amazed reading it how much I delighted in it. There is a fair amount of nudity and sex but it does take a back seat to the story and is used much more of as a story device than the focus of the plot. I am going to read the next two collections now based on how I delighted in this series. Again, it is only for adult readers.
This wraps it up for this blog. These are just a few of the books I have really delighted in over the past few weeks. As always I would love to know what you think. have you read any of these? Do you like Don Rosa as much as me? Am I full of it when I think he is as good as Barks at times? how about Tezuka? Did you like Captain Ken? What about the twist ending? Is his other work much more to your taste? What was your favorite Tezuka’s work? Beauty? Did you read it? Did you like it as much as me? everything thing I have written is my opinion and in no way reflects the thoughts or opinions of Westfield Comics or their employees (as I know my editor would disagree about Rosa). I welcome your thoughts, opinions, ideas at MFBWAY@AOL.COM. As always,
Thank you.
